Finished final teapot

This is my final project in ceramics.  Even though it's missed a spot I will still use it maybe as a bank.

Finished lantern

I love how it turned out.  It was most successful with its brick shaped holes on the side that greatly show off the bright light inside.  The most challenging thing was painting the inside because the lantern is thin and it was hard to fit my hand to paint everything.  I learned that the top is very important and it needs more time to make sure it fits.  I would give myself an A because it has many different places that light comes out and is painted very well.

Big coil pot

I made four different walls to show all four seasons.  One is a snowman, a flower, a pumpkin and another a star.

Finished rhino

I love how this turned out.  I purposely made the bubbles on its back with it going down its back to make it seem more special than just painting it on.  If I could do this differently I would have put more detail on its tail because it is very small.  I learned that slipping and scoring isn't the best way to put two pieces together but instead flowing the pieces together makes them more stable.

Lantern

I have brick holes on the side to show the bright light in the latern.  And on the top there are small holes that will shoot little beams of light out of the top.

Elephant

I liked how I used the sprinkles in my glaze.
It took me a while to work on the face because sometimes it would be too heavy.
I will put more planning in the big parts rather than focusing on the small areas.
Content: 5 the extra content was the added dots all over my project.
Craftsmanship: 4 it's really good but I could have dome better with the trunk.
Creativity: 5 I find it very creative with the glazing because each part is a different color but every part has dots.
Studio participation: 5 I alway use my time well because I don't usually talk to people here.
Composition elements and principles: 4 I didn't plan on painting it like this until I saw how nice it looked in the handouts.

Whistle

The most successful elements of my work was the spikes.  I evenly distributed them and made sure that I used a spike in every spot.
Painting the spikes was definitely the most difficult part.  I would go back and forth from red to black.
Making more details to make it easier to paint in between my project.
Content: 5 it took a very long time scoring and slipping each and every spike.  There are 98 spikes.
Craftsmanship: 5 I feel I put a lot of patience into this project by slowly going over each and every piece.
Creativity: 5 I was very creative with this project because I used a childhood character.
Studio participation: 5 everyday I would start working on it and I used every bit of my class time.
Composition elements and principles: 5 I planned it out very well making sure I could fit a spike every spot.

Amywarhol pictures

The most successful elements would be the drawing.  I used the needle very well.
The most challenging aspect were that I looked like an alien.
I will focus more on painting and covering every inch of my project.
Content: 3 I put time in my project but it does not look very good.
Craftsmanship: 2. It looks like I rushed through it.
Creativity:  2 I couldn't put much creativity into this because I had to follow a certain criteria.
Studio participation: 5 I always do my work and never goof off.
Composition eel tens and principles: 4 I planned my project out and did the best I could.

New year

I, Matthew Caruso, have changed dramatically in the last year.  Most noticeable is that I have gotten older.  Because of this I have also gotten bigger and stronger.  This has helped me in sports.  I play track and field.  I do two events, discus and pole vault.  These are two very opposite sports.  One is told to be big and bulky while the other is told for me to slim down.  I worked out as hard as I can to find the silver lining between both of the sports.  I became a strong, lean athlete.  I had a lot of fun during the track season your last couple of years but now I'm a senior and this will be my last season. I have also gotten smarter.  Over the summer I started taking a class to become a personal trainer.  I want to become one when I grow up.  After taking this class I will be able to train anyone.  I love working out.
